Our Mission

Milpitas High School Aerotech, built from the dream of several aspiring engineers in 2021/2022, is a student led rocketry club that participates in ARC, otherwise known as the American Rocketry Challenge. Currently, MHS Aerotech has a total of 3 Highschool ARC teams and 1 middle school team consisting of around 10 students each. Students hold afterschool meetings to plan, build, and discuss rocket designs. Outside of ARC, Aerotech MHS also hosts a service event known as ASA to give elementary schoolers an opportunity to learn and experience rocketry.

TARC

(The American Rocketry Competition)

What is TARC?

The Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC) is the world's largest rocket competition for students, organized by the Aerospace Industries Association and the National Association of Rocketry. Teams design, build, and launch model rockets to meet specific mission objectives that change annually.

Our Teams

AeroTech fields three high school TARC teams and one middle school team. Our students tackle real-world engineering challenges, from aerodynamic design to precision flight control, competing for a chance to advance to national finals in Washington, D.C.

What We Do

Our teams design custom rockets, conduct test launches, carry payloads safely, and refine their designs to meet precise altitude and duration targets. TARC provides hands-on experience in aerospace engineering, teaching propulsion, stability, aerodynamics, and teamwork—skills that have helped many of our alumni pursue careers in engineering and aerospace.

ASA

(Aerotech Space Adventures)

AeroTech Space Adventures is our signature outreach program where Milpitas High School AeroTech members share their passion for aerospace with elementary students in grades 1-6 throughout the Milpitas Unified School District.

What We Offer

Students build and launch their own rockets and boost gliders in guided 1.5-hour workshops led by our high school mentors. No experience needed—just curiosity! Each participant takes home their creation and gains real-world exposure to aeronautics, physics, and engineering in a fun, supportive environment.

Why ASA Matters

For our high school members, ASA develops leadership and teaching skills while giving back to the community. For elementary students, it's a chance to discover STEM through hands-on learning and experience the thrill of launching something they built themselves.

Support Us

AerotechMHS is a rocketry club with a goal to get to Nationals in The American Rocketry Competition. However, we require funds to be able to support the entrance fees and the material fees for all of our teams. Any small donation helps. Thank you!

Here's our donation page. When you open the page, scroll down to the option for "Donate to Aerotech".

Anything helps! Note: there's a small fee for using the student store for our donation page, so keep that in mind.
